Christian Life Week (CLW) 2026

Christian Life Week (CLW) 2026 brought a fantastic group of high-school aged campers and leaders to Halls Gap for an unforgettable week of digging deeper into faith, friendship, and fun. Though the weather was a bit rainy, thanks be to God the clouds held off at the right times for us to enjoy everything the week had to offer!

This year’s theme was “Detective”.  Throughout the week, our youth explored the daily practices of Christian spirituality through our studies. In small group sessions, we discussed the core elements of faith, focusing specifically on how to grow in a relationship with God through prayer, engaging with His Word, participating in worship and the sacraments. These sessions provided a space for the youth to ask questions, share their thoughts and engage with each other, and look at the practicalities of living out their faith.

Putting those studies into practice, worship was a standout element of the week. The youth were led by a fantastic camp band, engaged with interactive reading stations, and shared in quiet times of prayer to reflect on the content of the studies. A true standout of the week was the camper-led worship sessions, where our campers stepped up to lead their peers, demonstrating how we should respond spiritually to God working in our lives. Worship extended beyond formal worship, with campers giving back to the community through service activities: helping with odd jobs and cleaning up around Tandara.

When it came to activities, the competitive spirit was alive and well. The schedule was packed with highlights, like the “Double Agent” simulation game, alongside camper favorites like “Pool Noodle Tag” and “Minute to Win It” challenges. Between glow-in-the-dark sardines, walks into town, and our annual dress-up dinner, there was plenty of time for the campers to forge lasting friendships.

When asked about the highlights of camp, here is what our campers and leaders had to say:

CLW 2026 was a powerful reminder of the joy of doing life together, deepening our relationship with God, and building lasting friendships within the wider Christian community.

Looking ahead, we are already preparing for our next LYV Summer Camp in January 2027, open to high school-aged kids in Years 7–12. It will be held at Araluen Lutheran Camp in Anglesea.
