Intergenerational Experiences at Good News LC, Tarneit
Good News Lutheran College students recently participated in a meaningful intergenerational event, “Memory Lane,” held at Mercy Place in Wyndham Vale in September 2025. The event was organised by the Mercy Health Foundation in conjunction with the Catholic Archdiocese of Melbourne.
Our students had the privilege of connecting with aged care residents through shared stories, laughter, and genuine human connection. The experience provided our Year 12 students with valuable insights into the lives, wisdom, and experiences of older generations.
The event highlighted the power of intergenerational relationships in building empathy, respect, and understanding across age groups. Our students returned to the College with a deeper appreciation for the elderly in our community and the importance of honouring their stories and experiences.
This initiative reflects Good News Lutheran College’s commitment to serving and engaging with our local Wyndham community in meaningful ways, living out our values of grace, respect and integrity.
The event received coverage in both the Star Weekly and Catholic Archdiocese of Melbourne websites (links below), showcasing the positive impact of faith-based organisations working together to strengthen community connections.
