LHG Visit to Aged Care Homes
The transition towards Lutheran Homes Group (LHG) becoming the new Approved Provider for Sunnyside in Horsham and Eventide in Hamilton is on track.
As part of this process, some members of the senior LHG leadership team recently visited both homes, meeting with residents and staff over morning/afternoon tea, Monday 24 through Wednesday 26 March. The visits are part of an ongoing program to more closely familiarise themselves with all aspects of the homes and begin getting to know the communities. This is a normal part of the transition to a new Approved Provider, as they need to know as much as possible before they take over the role in June.
It’s always been of paramount importance to LCAVD that the Approved Provider should be well capable of providing ongoing, long-term quality Christian aged care, and LHG can and will do that – attested by their ongoing work in aged care as a Lutheran provider for almost 100 years. They will also be making material and significant capital investments, over time.
Behind the scenes, the legal side of dealing with a huge amount of paperwork is also on track. LHG are becoming the new Approved Provider from or before 1 July, as changes to Federal Government legislation and regulations which come into effect on that date preclude LCAVD from continuing in that role.
