President
For we do not preach ourselves, but Jesus Christ as Lord, and ourselves as your servants for Jesus’ sake. (2 Corinthians 4:5)
The District Presidency
The office of president is an important expression of the one, holy office of the ministry of word and sacrament, by which the Lord conducts his mission on earth - to save lost sinners. It is a servant role, exercised by the collegial use of the authority given it, to oversee and encourage the church for the sake of Christ and his people. The president supports the theological and pastoral endeavors of the District, with attention to strengthening the church's mission in challenging times. He gives priority to the care and continuing education of pastors, and contributes his prayers, love and guidance to congregations as they struggle to be Christ's people 'in a foreign land'. In addition he assists smooth functioning of District affairs, and contributes to a broad spectrum of synodical, ecumenical and public conversation on behalf of the Lutheran Church of Australia and the District.
