The District supports the mission and ministry of its congregations in a number of ways, and provides services directly where these are beyond the ability of single congregations. The District Pastor for Congregational Support acts as a consultant to congregations, encourages and challenges them in their mission and ministry, and assists the District President in his oversight of congregations. The District Pastor for Child, Youth, Tertiary and Family Ministry grows the ability of congregations and their families in passing on the faith to new generations, and provides tertiary chaplaincy in the metropolitan area with another chaplain. The District Pastor for Service and Witness supports congregations and their members in their service to the wider community, and provides hospital chaplaincy in the metropolitan area with additional chaplains. Management of these and other services is given to the Council for Ministry Support and its committees.
